Key responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, you will oversee categories classified under Highways and related spending, managing an annual expenditure of approximately £20 million.
Key Responsibilities
Lead RFx activities, including managing the sourcing process, negotiating, and contracting for high/mid-value and complex categories.
Oversee supplier evaluations during onboarding, apply i-Procurement strategies, and manage category codes in alignment with category strategy.
Negotiate flow-down terms for complex agreements, ensuring compliance and value optimization.
Maintain supplier performance and manage supplier relationships throughout contract lifecycles, including risk assessment and mitigation.
Effectively manage both internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.
About You
This role is ideal for an experienced Category Manager with a background in similar procurement or commercial roles.
Key Requirements
Proven track record in cost reduction and value generation within a procurement organisation.
Strong experience in strategic sourcing and category management methodologies.
Extensive category management experience in a procurement or commercial setting.
Skilled in developing and executing category plans and strategies.
Exceptional negotiation abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
