What does the job entail?

Warwickshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Advisor to support their commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. The EDI Advisor will work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic EDI initiatives that enhance diversity and inclusion across their services and community engagement.

You will achieve this by:
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and key partners to develop a strategic EDI plan for Warwickshire County Council.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with statutory partners, service providers, voluntary sector organisations, and customers.
  • Deliver training on various EDI subjects to employees, community members, and volunteers.
  • Support and facilitate the delivery of EDI campaigns to promote inclusivity and awareness.
  • Provide guidance to employees to ensure a comprehensive understanding of EDI principles and best practices.
  • Advise on methods to engage and support all community members, ensuring equitable service provision
  • Promote good relations and inclusive practices for diverse and underrepresented groups within Warwickshire County Council.
  • Support individuals facing discrimination and lead diversity and inclusion workshops.
  • Work collaboratively across Warwickshire County Council to identify and support additional EDI initiatives.
  • Assist Service Managers and Delivery Team Leaders in achieving organisational goals related to EDI.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
  • Proven experience in an EDI advisory role or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in designing and delivering EDI training and workshops.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and strategic approach to promoting inclusivity and addressing discrimination.
