About the Role:

We are working on behalf of an automotive engineering client seeking a skilled Prototype Build Technician to join their team for an exciting project. This is a 3-month contract role (outside IR35) with an immediate start. You will be responsible for whole-vehicle prototype builds, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, modify, and build prototype vehicles or components to precise engineering specifications.
  • Work closely with design, engineering, and testing teams to deliver prototypes on schedule.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with prototype components, systems, or assemblies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of build processes and updates..
  • Liaise with engineers to provide feedback on prototype performance and make suggestions for improvements.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Build Technician, ideally in an automotive prototype or motorsport environment.
  • Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work with a variety of materials including metals, plastics, and composites.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, and powertrain.
  • Experience using a wide range of workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • A proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage time efficiently.
