Your new schoolYour new school is a two-form entry school in Warwick. The school is accessible via public transport. They are a vibrant and inclusive primary school dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all students. They are committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. The working hours are 830-330, Monday to Friday, on a long-term basis. The school are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join the team in their reception class.

Your new roleThis school is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their reception team. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support both the whole class and a specific pupil with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education and a positive school experience. Your role will include-

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Flexible and prepared to adapt your day to suite the needs of the child and the class.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Assist with personal care needs.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Knowledge of specific SEN conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties).
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3)Experience and understanding of the early years curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
