As a Legal Advisor, you'll provide essential legal guidance on pivotal issues surrounding UK agriculture. This role calls for a proactive, detail-oriented legal professional with the agility to address diverse legal areas. Based in the midlands, this hybrid role offers both autonomy and collaboration over a six-month contract.

Description

The In-House Legal Advisor will:

  • Be the first port of call, and advise on legal issues central to the agriculture industry, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage a caseload of various matters keeping all parties updated, and assisting in the progression of matters.
  • Update essential business guides and online resources, ensuring members have access to accurate, relevant information.
  • Deliver training on legal matters to regional advisors and member representatives, enhancing their knowledge and impact.
  • Draft, review, and maintain up-to-date content on legislation, policy guidance, and case outcomes relevant to members.
  • Represent the organisation with various industry groups, contributing to collective sector knowledge and strategy.

Profile

The In-House Legal Advisor should be:

  • Solicitor or barrister with 2+ PQE.
  • Demonstrable legal advisory experience in areas such as litigation, agriculture, policy, industry casework, or member support.
  • Proficient in communicating technical legal concepts to non-experts, alongside strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid setting, balancing independent research and collaborative initiatives.
