Mechanical Site Manager – Coventry – Permanent – Salary circa £50,000 plus benefits

Anderselite are recruiting on behalf of a premier building services contractor in the Coventry area for a Mechanical Site Manager.

This is a permanent role, available from October 2024 or thereafter should the selected candidate have to serve notice with their current employer. Start date is flexible to suit during Q4 2024.

The candidate will be managing site teams on build projects typically up to £10M (M&E value) across all sectors including Commercial, Residential apartments, Student accommodation, Health, Education and leisure. Your key responsibility will be to ensure all aspects of the mechanical installation are completed to programme whilst managing the site teams progress, sign offs for the main contractor, health and safety, quality and material ordering etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor performance of labour and specialist sub-contractors
• Attend weekly site meetings with the Main Contractor.
• Ensure subcontractors are working to the latest drawings.
• Undertake site quality inspections to ensure site compliance with client specification
• Complete Onsite check forms as provided by the Main Contractor, Quality etc.
• Assist the visiting Project Manager with on-site tasks and planning
• Material ordering, deliveries, organisation and safe keeping of.
• Ordering of Plant
• Establish milestones required to ensure successful progression and completion of project according to Main Contractors programme
• Raise any issues that could affect progress to Project Manager in good time.
• Co-ordinate construction drawings with the office and Project Manager.
• Ensure that any site instructions are recorded and reported back to Project Manager.
• Maintain excellent Client/Contractor relationships with all involved throughout the project
• Full co-operation with the Project manager throughout the project at every level.
• Ensure appropriate quality and workmanship is being met
• Ensure that snagging is identified and rectified during course of project and participate with commissioning and handover to a successful conclusion

Credentials required

• Ideally possess five years previous experience working as a Site Manager within your discipline
• Hold a valid SSSTS or SMSTS Certificate.
• Relevant Mechanical qualifications eg NVQ etc.
• Hold a relevant trade CSCS skills card

Remuneration

Annual salary for this role is negotiable circa £50,000 depending on previous experience. In addition, there is a discretionary company bonus scheme, laptop, PPE and company clothing provided.
Furthermore 25 days holiday plus stats as well as private healthcare and competitive pension plan.

This role will be based on sites, generally across the Midlands, so some flexibility on location will be required depending on workflow.

It would also be possible to work as a direct sub-contractor if this method is preferred.
