Role: Material Testing Engineer - Soft Trim Materials

Location: Gaydon, UK

Duration: Permanent

This role is within the Materials Laboratory - the role will focus on Soft Trim Materials and concerns the delivery and characterisation of new materials and the approval to support program delivery.

The main activities will be manage new material development projects, to carry out materials tests and report out results.Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects relating to new material and technology selection, validation & approval for new programmes.
  • Support materials test activities within the laboratory, to defined procedures and processes
  • Support research & innovation projects from a materials perspective.
  • To collate, manipulate and interpret data which will be used to inform engineering decisions, to communicate out results in an easy to understand format.
  • Provide test expertise and interpretation on supplier delivered reports where techniques used are relevant.
  • Maintain facility to high standards including 5S and safety activity.

What You Need:

  • Technical knowledge/experience of Textiles and/or Soft Polymers and/or Material Engineering.
  • Ability to follow set procedures as communicated
  • IT skills to use standard Office applications and IT hardware
  • Ability to plan multiple tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines
