Our client, a leading player in the Energy and Utility industry, is seeking a talented and experienced Product Owner to join their dynamic Product Team. As the National Grid Electricity System Operator, our client plays a vital role in keeping the lights on for Great Britain and driving the transition towards a zero-carbon electricity system. With ambitious goals and a focus on enhancing customer experiences, our client is at the forefront of innovation in the industry.

As a Product Owner, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape and deliver exceptional digital platforms and products, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for both internal teams and customers. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and business analysts, you will translate complex requirements into intuitive user interfaces, driving efficiency, transparency, and customer focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, understanding customer and regulatory needs and ensuring customer engagement throughout the Connections initiatives.
  • Work with the Connections Product team and agile teams to maintain the Product Roadmap, translating it into quality features and user stories.
  • Foster a customer-centric, data-driven approach to prioritisation and coach team members on product management methodology.
  • Support the team with user acceptance testing and sign off releases, collaborating with the change team to identify and support training plans.
  • Lead agile ceremonies such as refinements, sprint planning, and retrospectives on behalf of the team.
  • Conduct workshops, presentations, and demonstrations to refine requirements and make recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in product/business analysis for digital products and services, preferably within the energy or utility sector.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and best practises, including leading refinement sessions and retrospectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Passion for creating solutions that solve complex problems and enhance the customer experience.
