Welder Fabricaor

Salary: 15.00ph per hour

Metalis are working with a bespoke fabrication company based in Warwick who are seeking Welder/Fabricator to join their team. Our client takes pride in creating quality steel structures and exceptional service to their clients.

As a Welder/Fabricator, you will play a critical role in the fabrication process, ensuring the production of structurally sound and visually appealing components. From reading blueprints to welding and assembling metal parts, your skills and attention to detail will contribute to the successful completion of projects.

Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding and fabrication requirements.
  • Welding and fabricating structural steelwork creating products such as handrails, staircases, balustrades and gates.
  • Perform welding operations, including MIG and TIG welding, to join metal parts accurately and securely.
  • Occasionally travelling to site's across the Midlands to work individually and occasionally install products.
  • Select and set up appropriate welding equipment, tools, and materials for each project.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify welding defects or quality issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Fabricate metal components by cutting, bending, and shaping materials using various fabrication techniques and machinery.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to ensure accurate interpretation of project requirements.
  • Assist in the selection and sourcing of materials, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG and TIG welding.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, and shaping.
  • Able & willing to travel for work, typically in the Midlands. A van from site will be provided.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • CSCS card is esstential
  • IPAF desired but not essential
  • Ability to work on own accord.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Skilled in operating fabrication machinery, such as shears, brakes, and saws.
  • Familiarity with different types of metals, alloys, and their respective welding characteristics.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality welds and fabrications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and collaboration skills.

Salary & Hours:

Salary: 15.00-16.00 per hour (Dependant on experience)

Contracted hours: 07:15am - 16:15 pm Monday - Thursday 07.15am - 12.15pm - Friday

It is important to note that a CSCS card is required as some of the work involves working on clients sites.
