Zenith People are working with our client who are looking to recruit a Machine Shop Team Leader on a permanent basis.

As Team Leader in a busy Machine Shop environment, you will lead a team of CNC Millers & Turners and oversee the daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring efficient production and adherence to quality standards. Your role will be hands-on, involving both supervisory tasks and direct involvement in machining processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Production Coordination: Coordinate tool design, assembly, manufacturing processes, and cost estimating. Ensure optimal equipment utilization and efficient layout of storage and test areas.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with product quality, safety, and environmental requirements. Conduct near-miss and accident investigations.
  • Supervision: Provide daily supervision and support to employees in the work cell(s). Direct machine operators and support personnel to meet production schedules.
  • Reporting: Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
  • Skills: Familiarity with production planning, scheduling, tooling requirements
  • Experience: Monitor processing activities, maintain training records, and ensure product compliance with standards and agreements.

The Person we are looking for & Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Education: Apprenticeship in CNC or equivalent
  • Certifications: CNC certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Hands-on experience with CNC machines and basic machining knowledge.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage schedules, troubleshoot, and identify efficiency improvements paired with previous experience as a Team Leader in a similar environment.
