Job Description:
The HSE Manager will be responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental practices throughout the organization. You will lead initiatives that ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards, while also driving improvements in safety and environmental performance. A key part of this role involves working with different departments to integrate safety and environmental objectives into everyday operations, ensuring a proactive approach to minimizing risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company’s HSE policies and strategies to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal HSE requirements and continuously assess potential risks, putting improvement measures in place where needed.
  • Lead audits, inspections, and investigations of incidents to ensure lessons are learned and practices are enhanced.
  • Foster a safety-conscious culture by promoting employee engagement in health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
  • Regularly report HSE performance metrics to senior leadership, identifying key areas for improvement and action.
  • Work alongside external bodies, including regulators, to maintain high HSE standards.
  • Deliver training programs and provide guidance to staff on HSE protocols and best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in HSE management, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of current HSE legislation, with experience in maintaining certifications such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience in risk assessment, audits, and designing effective training programs.
  • Relevant qualifications, including a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent); IOSH membership is preferred.
