Central Employment is currently working with a global automotive client who are looking for a IT Technician to continue to modernise and maintain their technical environment. I'm looking for candidates with experience of working with enterprise clients in a similar capacity, with on-site exposure across a broad spectrum of infrastructure and support. A background from Managed Services or similar manufacturing industry would be desirable.

Key Duties

  • Ensures effective collaboration with all IT colleagues
  • Support all IT software deployment after assessing function and usability
  • To undertake project work as required
  • Looking at existing manufacturing systems and assessing upgrade requirements
  • Running test system deployments to check for issues in site-wide changeover
  • Liaising with 3rd parties regarding external support partners
  • Supporting the upkeep of the current VMware estate
  • Support and update systems lifecycle documentation
  • Running test scripts that are well compiled for all stakeholders in the IT estate

Essential Requirements

  • Experience supporting infrastructure including servers, switches and desktop environments
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience assessing and implementing change in enterprise environments
  • Changeover of machines
  • Experience of windows 10/11 environments
  • Experience of virtualisation technologies especially VMware within enterprise business
  • Shares knowledge and enforces compliance with IT systems development life cycle
  • Experience dealing with a highly regulated site, with good process and best practice knowledge

  • Able to converse with stakeholders of the business in a non-technical manner
  • Personable and approachable
