Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based in Tyne & Wear and are recruiting for a Time-served Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis.

Working a shift pattern (2 shifts) of earlies & lates Monday to Friday, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a high-volume manufacturing facility. This position requires a combination of mechanical and electrical skills, as well as experience in both reactive and preventative maintenance. The successful candidate will have completed an apprenticeship paired with exposure to automation systems and robotics.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify faults in production machinery promptly.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Respond to breakdowns efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Collaborate with other trade disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical) as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the development and implementation of new production equipment, including automated systems and robots.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of a full engineering indentured apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills: Not Essential

  • Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving abilities.
