The CompanyNigel Wright Group are working with a market-leading Manufacturer to recruit a Commodity Manager into their Purchasing Team.They will support hybrid working - minimum 4 days per week on site with the option of 1 day per week home-working.The OpportunityWorking within a small team, the Commodity Manager (Direct Materials) will have strategic procurement responsibility for a range of Direct commodities, remit to include:
  • Developing commodity strategy - focusing upon Quality, Cost, Delivery
  • Commodity spend and supply analysis
  • New supplier sourcing, contract negotiations
  • Supplier performance management and review meetings
  • Deputising for Procurement Manager
About YouThe successful Commodity Manager will have/be:
  • Directs' commodity management/procurement experience from within Manufacturing/Engineering background
  • Commodity management experience/contract management experience 
  • Strong negotiation skills, confident to manage stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Experienced in cost analysis, commercially astute
  • Dynamic problem solver
  • Ambitious, resilient, assertive and autonomous, able to hit ground running
