KCR Solutions are delighted to be working with this expanding, manufacturing organisation in Washington, to recruit a Purchasing Supervisor. Your duties will be as follows:

  • Responsible for procurement of all products and services, considering cost, quality and priority
  • Working with suppliers to ensure optimal inventory levels to support on time delivery goals
  • Maintaining purchase price for all items and looking at variances to ensure accurate payments
  • Utilising reorder reports, critical inventory reports and material planning to plan optimal reorder quantities for raw materials considering forecast data, seasonality trends, and customer demand
  • Tracking and maintaining records of open purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring data is accurate
  • Maintaining supplier files of contacts and latest material specifications
  • Managing inventory to an optimal level based upon safety stocks, reorder points, as well as taking advantage of volume buys for price reductions when available
  • Resolving open issues with suppliers relating to quality, errors on shipments and delivery issues
  • Ensuring any supplier quality issues are resolved quickly
  • Coordinating with shipping and production departments to advise expected in bound freight, considering storage and warehouse capacities
  • Reporting bi-weekly and receiving details in writing
  • Monitoring and reporting supplier performance on a monthly basis
  • Participating in planning meetings with sales team to alter forecasts and planning according to demand
  • Conducting monthly material excess and obsolete review, assisting with plans to manage the inventory
  • Communicating and reporting material shortages to operations team
  • Assisting with supplier negotiations, cost reduction, stock analysis and sourcing projects

Educated to degree level, you will have worked in a similar role previously and have strong purchasing experience and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with clients regularly.
