We are pleased to be able to offer this permanentposition on behalf of our client based in Washington who islooking to appoint a Transport Planner.
Hours of work are 8.00am-5.00pm Monday -Thursday 8.00am-12.00pm Friday. We are looking for someonewho has the organisational skills to assist the existing transport team with logistical support.
Duties of the role include;
- Organising routes to carry freight to customers
- Assigning drivers to particular route and supporting them with any queries
- Liaisingwith customers to establish delivery times and manage expectations
- Organising back routes where possible
- Planning of transport operations in advance where possible
- Developing good working relationships with customers
- Dealing with any queries from customers regarding deliveries
Experience required for the role;
- Experience in working with in a transport office in a planning capacity is highly desirable
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent organisational skills
