THE ROLE

As the Lead Site Hand - Sheet Metalworker / Fabricator / Welder, you will: 

• Perform high-quality TIG/MIG welding and fabrication work both in the workshop and on various customer sites 

• Complete small fabrication, maintenance, and installation projects to exacting standards 

• Work from customer and engineering drawings, maintaining high precision and accuracy 

• Operate general fabrication workshop equipment with skill 

• Take the lead on-site, supervising and working with a small team when necessary 

• Ensure self-checking and accountability for all work completed 

 

THE PERSON  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sheet metalwork, fabrication, and TIG/MIG welding 

• Prior site experience (experience in the food and drinks industry is advantageous) 

• Clean driving licence (Forklift licence is desirable) 

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately 

• Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and pride in high-quality workmanship 

• Able to work independently or within a team, and take initiative on-site projects 

 

THE PACKAGE

• £16 per hour 

• 40-hour work week: Monday – Thursday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am – 1:00 pm 

• Overtime available at an enhanced rate 

• 20 days holiday plus statutory days 

• Company pension scheme
