Function:

As the Head of Finance, you will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial management and strategic planning of the organisation. Your primary function will be to provide strategic financial guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, optimise financial performance, and drive sustainable growth. Additionally, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's overall financial strategy and fostering a culture of financial transparency, accountability, and integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement financial strategy in alignment with overall objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership on decision-making issues

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial goals and objectives.
  • Provide regular financial forecasts and variance analyses to support decision-making.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Develop and maintain a robust internal control framework.

Cash Management:

  • Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring optimal utilisation of funds.
  • Implement effective treasury management practices.

Financial Modelling:

  • Conduct financial modelling and analysis to support strategic initiatives, investments, and business development opportunities.

Tax Compliance:

  • Oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting.
  • Stay informed about changes in Irish tax laws and regulations.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with external partners, financial institutions, and stakeholders to optimise financial relationships and support business objectives.

Team Leadership:

  • Mentor finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Recruit, train, and develop finance staff as necessary.

Advisory Role:

  • Provide financial advice to the CEO and SLT to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
  • 7 years progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of success in senior financial leadership roles, preferably in a comparable industry or organisation.
  • Strong grasp of financial principles, accounting stds, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams and driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software.
