Accountant, Waterlooville

Rafferty Resourcing are thrilled to be working with a local firm who are seeking talented individuals to join their super friendly and rapidly growing team. You'll work in a modern setting, alongside a team of hardworking professionals who put their clients at the heart of everything they do. You will also have the chance to develop and progress, as our client really pride themselves on progression from within!

The Role:

  • Providing first class client care at all times via phone, email and in person
  • Onboarding new clients and integrating them into your portfolio
  • Evaluating and providing tax guidance for clients as well as optimising their tax efficiency
  • Completing, reviewing, and preparing book-keeping and VAT returns where required
  • Liaising between clients and HM Revenue & Customs to deal with and resolve queries
  • Maintaining electronic filing of books and records
  • Efficiently managing client administration and records
  • Engaging in tasks and any activities necessary to support the smooth running of the office environment
  • Preparing and executing year-end client meetings as required
  • Ensuring all internal and statutory deadlines are met e.g., HMRC, SLA
  • Carrying out client fee reviews

The Person:

  • Must hold membership to a professional body (does not need to be a chartered body)
  • At least 2 years accounting practice experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure for both internal and external deadlines (including HMRC)
  • Effective communication skills, both within the company and with clients
  • Good knowledge and understanding of QuickBooks and Xero
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • A dedication to providing exceptional customer service
  • A positive, friendly and professional appearance for an office environment
  • An eagerness to learn and improve skills for personal development
  • Self-motivated and confident to seek assistance when necessary
