GSL Education are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work in one of our lovely Special Needs schools situated in the Waterlooville area. This school caters for primary and secondary aged children, so would be a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working with different aged children.

The children who attend the school have severe and profound learning difficulties. Many will have an additional diagnosis and complex needs requiring frequent medical assistance or require support with behaviour due to their autism or severe learning disability.

A suitable candidate will have experience working with children who have complex learning difficulties and will be someone who enjoys fostering a love of learning.

Job role:

- Working under the guidance of a teacher supporting small groups of pupils with learning tasks.

- Fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.

- Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and communication skills.

- Safeguarding will be your number one priority ensuring the welfare of the pupils.

Job specification:

- Full time 8:45am – 3:15pm (Mon – Fri)

- £12.82 - £14.72 p/h

- Temporary to permanent contract

- Location: Waterlooville

- Start date: ASAP
