Job Role:

Reporting to and taking targets and direction from the Quality Manager and Senior Manager, as a manufacturing engineer you will play a significant part in the development, organisation, and ongoing business improvement of production operations and new product introduction, working across multiple functions of the business but particularly closely with production and quality teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the definition of all aspects of the production and quality method including definition of manufacturing/quality instructions for NPI and work within current portfolio
  • Act as a technical customer interface for key projects with relevant teams, ensuring a smooth introduction of new projects to manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements with a right first time approach


Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical customer interface for key projects
  • Ensure all Project/Product files are maintained through the life of the product.
  • Ensure all projects are driven to completion, in conjunction with engineering, quality and operational stake holders.
  • Develop production and quality plans ready for manufacturing operations
  • Perform PFMEA & effective analysis studies
  • Lead advanced manufacturing engineering activities in support of NPI & LEAN & 5S
  • Resolve and troubleshoot production/quality issues


Qualifications, experience, and skills:

Essential

  • HND or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Manufacturing Engineering or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of NPI
  • Able to build long-term relationships with key stakeholders , both internally and externally
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and tools, 8D, 5 Why etc.
  • Previous experience of an ERP / MRP system
  • Practical competence in mechanical assembly


Desirable:

  • Experience of working within an Aerospace / Defence environment
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100D or a similar QMS system
  • AS9145 APQP & PPAP.
