As a Technical Design Engineer with us, you will collaborate with industry experts and contribute to cutting-edge projects while gaining valuable experience in technical design, FMEA, polymer engineering, and manufacturing processes.

We are seeking a talented Technical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical design background. You will be responsible for designing and developing new products and improving existing ones. Your expertise in design software, FMEA, and process knowledge will be essential to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new components using SolidWorks and CATIA software, ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) using non-linear techniques to identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies and perform and coordinate qualification/validation activities internally and externally.
  • Lead the development of customer programs from conception to production before ownership of NPI.
  • Provide value-added engineering support to internal and external teams as required, delivering support and design improvements using knowledge of manufacturing processes, including tooling and production techniques to optimise designs for manufacturability.
  • Drive innovation through the design and development of new products and estimate costs for products and engineering projects based on analysis of technical requirements.
  • Develop technical proposals for customers, clearly outlining product features, validation and specifications, conduct product qualification testing, and prepare comprehensive reports.
Essential Skills

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree or high-level achievement in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Experience in technical design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks & CATIA design software
  • Knowledge of FMEA, particularly non-linear techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations

Good to have:

  • Understanding of polymer and rubber engineering, including compound selection and properties
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including tooling and production techniques
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience with product qualification testing and reporting
