Based near Watford, Hertfordshire, our prestigious client is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their close-knit finance team on a permanent basis, with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis after successful probation.
This job would suit someone with previous accounting experience, to be responsible for maximising value for the business by supporting on the preparation of regular financial reporting and ensuring cashflow and supplier payments are managed. The successful individual will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and can work well under pressure. Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel is essential for this role. To be successful for this role you must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team, providing support to others and ensuring that targets are achieved both collectively and individually.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing the Monthly Management Accounts within the agreed timeline and provide insightful and relevant variance analysis.
- Maintain and update the cashflow forecast, including regular reporting.
- Act as a deputy for the Head of Finance when necessary.
- Process weekly expense claims and ensure all payments are supported with appropriate documentation.
- Ensure appropriate cash balance levels by managing drawdowns from the Invoice Financing account and providing accurate forecasts.
- Reconcile supplier statements when received and provide remittance advice upon request.
- Strengthen financial processes through regular reconciliations, including Fixed Asset, Balance Sheet, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure all supplier invoices are properly uploaded, approved, coded, and paid in accordance with terms and approval levels.
- Support the business by reviewing suppliers to ensure excellent value and service quality.
- Regularly follow up on outstanding invoices and queries for historic creditors.
- Manage company credit cards and floats, ensuring limits are adequate, issues are promptly addressed, and transactions are correctly recorded in the accounting system.
- Raise invoices promptly and accurately.
- Ensure all finance-related tasks are completed on time, with follow-up actions performed as required.
- Provide support with debtor control when needed.
