Ivy Rock Partners is proud to be working with a highly regarded and forward-thinking multi-academy trust in their search for an interim Finance Officer with a focus on accounts payable. This trust is dedicated to providing exceptional education throughout its schools and is seeking a committed finance professional to become a valued member of their central finance team.

This role is based in Watford with 4 days in the office and 1 day work from home.

The Role:As a Finance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the trust’s financial processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a meaningful mission in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the full accounts payable cycle, including verifying and posting invoices.
  • Preparing and processing payment runs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Reconciling supplier accounts and promptly resolving discrepancies.
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Ensuring adherence to internal financial policies and best practices.
  • Delivering exceptional service to internal stakeholders and external suppliers by addressing finance-related queries effectively.

About You:The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional with:

  • Proven experience in finance.
  • Ability to pick up finance systems quickly.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A collaborative and problem-solving approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in the education sector is desirable.
