Description
Financial Controller Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly management accounts process, providing insightful analysis and commentary for board meetings and steering strategic decision-making at the highest level
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls and processes while managing a team of three qualified accountants
- Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to ensure accuracy and accountability
- Oversee cash flow management and working capital optimisation, implementing improvements to support the company's growth trajectory
- Partner with the Commercial Director to analyse new market opportunities and provide financial modelling for expansion projects
Profile
To excel as the Financial Controller you should be:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience in a commercial environment
- Strong technical accounting skills with exceptional Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems
- Proven track record of presenting to and influencing C-suite stakeholders
- Commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a confident, proactive approach
- Experience in FMCG or retail sectors highly desirable
- Natural leadership abilities with a track record of developing high-performing teams
