- £60,000 - £65,000 per annum (negotiable for the right candidate)
- Fixed Term Contract for 9 months covering maternity
- Hybrid role working 2 -3 days per week in Watford and the rest working remotely
Working for a Global Recruitment Consultancy with a turnover of +£100m, this company provides contract labour and permanent recruitment resources through a number of brands and companies. The company operates internationally, but this role covers only the UK entities.
The main UK businesses operate in the healthcare, education, construction and engineering sectors having individual turnovers ranging up to £20m.
We are seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to cover maternity leave and to take responsibility for the financial reporting for the UK businesses. Supporting the successful candidate is a newly formed finance team based in South Africa so experience of managing a remote team is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis across multiple trading entities.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a new finance team of three team members in South Africa and one in the UK, ensuring effective training and performance.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budget preparation, financial planning, and cash flow management.
- Reconciliations & Compliance: Responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
- Audit & Year-End Support: Assist with external audit requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior leadership and operational teams, providing key financial insights and recommendations.
Key Requirements:
- Fully or Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent in experience).
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant in a multi-entity environment is essential.
- Experience managing and developing international finance teams.
- Hands on, with attention to detail.
- Team leadership experience, particularly managing remote teams across different locations.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in financial reporting tools.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience with system migration and finance transformation projects.
- Experience of Safe Financials and/or Easybuild accounting systems
