About Us:Our client are a professional services and consultancy firm based in Watford, established in over 40 years ago, they have grown consistently with a great client portfolio and an ever present focus on their company culture and employee well-being. Base din the Watford area they are in search of a Management Accountant to join their Accounts and Audit team producing the management accounts for a portfolio of clients.

Role Overview:This is a busy and varied role that would suit an individual with at least two years of experience in preparing management accounts. In this role, you will prepare management accounts for a portfolio of clients based on their core records. You will also support, train, and assist junior team members to help them maximise their performance.

Key Management Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts, providing analysis and designated reports
  • Bookkeeping and VAT reporting to a high standard
  • Cashflow reporting and forecasts
  • Month/Quarter end adjustments and reconciliations
  • Providing support to junior members of staff, including training where required
  • Preparing ad hoc reports for clients
  • Performing payment runs

About You:Ideally, you will already be working as a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant. You'll have intermediate to advanced experience within a professional accountancy practice, combined with excellent organisational and time management skills, a problem-solving approach, and outstanding attention to detail. You will also have/be:

  • AAT Qualified or Part Qualified (or equivalent ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience of working in a Professional Services Accounting firm
  • Intermediate experience of bookkeeping, producing monthly management accounts, specifically including preparing prepayments, accruals, depreciation, accrued income, and deferred income
  • Knowledge of cash flow reports and forecasts (desirable)
  • Experience of dealing with a varied and demanding client base including telephone, email, and face-to-face communication
  • Strong knowledge of Xero, Sage Line 50, and Microsoft Excel
  • Based locally to the Watford area
  • Up-to-date knowledge of accounting and taxation practices and current developments
  • Ability to work autonomously
