Think Accountancy and Finance are seeking an experienced Accountant/Senior Finance Business Partner for a client based on the outskirts of Watford. Due to their location, we are looking for candidates who are able to commute with ease - car drivers are preferable.

The position reports directly to the Finance Director and requires a candidate with experience within Construction or Infrastructure.

You will work for one of the UKs leading companies in this industry and your role will be as a Senior Finance Business Partner and will be responsible for the day-to-day control of the financial reporting processes, including the month end process and preparation of the quarterly forecast.

You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing production of monthly management accounts
  • Review of project month Cost and Value Reconciliations ensuring project revenue, margin, WIP, accruals, prepayments are all recorded
  • Attend monthly project review meetings
  • Producing quarterly forecasting packs
  • Review monthly project balance sheets
  • Review project cash flows
  • Work with operational and commercial teams taking ownership of financial forecasts and reports for each project
  • Manage a small team

Our client is looking for someone who is Qualified (ACCA, ACA, ACMA or CIMA) for this position. You will have experience within the construction industry in particular long term contract accounting and management of projects.

You will be up to date with financial and management accounting practices and be an experienced people manager.

Our client offers flexible working with a minimum of 3 days in the office and time on sites. The company offers a competitive salary, bonus and car allowance.

  • An awareness of NEC Contracts
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Business Partnering experience
  • Board level interpersonal skills & experience
  • Advance excel, data analysis, presentation skills
  • Power BI skills
  • Management experience
  • A thorough and up-to-date knowledge of financial and management accounting practices
  • ERP system knowledge in particular Oracle.
