- 09:00 - 17:30

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking skilled Band 6 Biomedical Scientists to join the Hematology and Pathology teams at Watford General Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital. This role involves delivering high-quality laboratory analysis and contributing to the effective operation of the Pathology department. Successful candidates will work closely with laboratory teams on a rotating shift schedule and have opportunities to apply specialized technical skills within the NHS.
Key Responsibilities- Laboratory Analysis: Perform and interpret a range of laboratory tests and analyses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize technical laboratory skills to conduct complex analyses in Haematology or Pathology, depending on departmental requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality control measures to maintain high standards of laboratory testing and reporting accuracy.
- Supervisory & Teaching Duties: Supervise and mentor junior staff, assisting with their professional development and skill-building.
- Collaboration: Work with Pathology and Hematology teams to support efficient laboratory operations, timely reporting, and high-quality patient care.
- HCPC Registration: Current HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in technical laboratory skills, particularly in Haematology or Pathology.
- Qualifications: Possession of an IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent knowledge in Haematology or Pathology.
- Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or teaching role within a laboratory setting.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain quality and accuracy in laboratory analyses.
