Job Description:

I am seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Combustion Engineer to join a leading facilities maintenance company based in Watford at a critical Pharmaceutical site. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in commercial heating systems to deliver high-quality services across a range of commercial and industrial properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service, Maintenance & Repairs:
    Perform planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, and repair of commercial gas boilers, burners, and heating systems across various client sites.

  • Diagnostics:
    Carry out fault-finding and troubleshooting to ensure heating systems operate efficiently and effectively.

  • Compliance:
    Ensure all work complies with current gas safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Complete relevant safety documentation (e.g., Gas Safe Certificates).

  • Installation:
    Assist in the installation and commissioning of new commercial heating systems and components as required.

  • Customer Service:
    Provide professional and clear communication with clients, offering advice on system efficiency improvements and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Record Keeping:
    Maintain accurate service records, including job sheets, risk assessments, and service reports.

  • Emergency Support:
    Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency breakdown assistance when required.

Key Requirements:
  • Qualifications:

    • Gas Safe Registered.
    • ACS Commercial Gas qualifications (e.g., COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1).
    • OFTEC qualification (advantageous but not essential).
    • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing/Heating or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Proven experience working on commercial heating systems, including boilers and associated plant.
    • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
    • Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) is an advantage.
  • Skills:

    • Ability to work independently and within a team.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Full UK driving license.
    • Flexibility to travel across Watford and surrounding areas.
