Summary of Position:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our Client, a well-established practice accountancy firm. The Part-Time Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing the financial records and transactions for clients.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial transactions and records, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger entries, payroll, and financial statements.
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Complete month-end accrual and prepayments.
  • Complete VAT returns.
  • Generate regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for clients.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records and implement solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide support to senior accountants and managers in various accounting tasks and projects.

Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes:

  • Experience working in an accountancy practice environment.
  • Several years of experience in bookkeeping and covering the duties above.
  • IT Literate, with experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, AutoEntry, and Dext.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to produce consistently accurate work.
  • Ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
