Our client is looking for an organised, motivated and solution focused individual to manage their SEND education and training centre in Basildon. The Centre Manager will be an imperative role in the centre by ensuring effective management of the centre team, operations and curriculum, be the lead for effective and successful implementation of the company vision resulting in learner achievement, success and a sustainability. A person to continue to build and promote the centre’s importance to the local area and its communities with key stakeholders. Confidently lead a team strategically through good organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills while enthusing others along the way.

Key Objectives would be to:

  • To provide strategic and effective leadership for the operational success of the centre through effective staff management
  • To ensure all young people who enrol at the centre are safe, learns, progresses and achieves
  • To implement effective plans to meet centre key performance indicators
  • Lead on centre planning for all programmes and operations
  • Work with local authorities providing educational and development opportunities for young people
  • Build and extend effective local and/or national relationships that support the centre’s position locally

Main Tasks & Responsibilities :

  • Effectively manage programmes across the centre’s ensuring operational success leading to overall success for retention, achievement and pass rates.
  • Lead and support the implementation of curriculum plans through effective timetabling enabling learners to achieve.
  • Implement methods locally to raise the profile of the company by engaging with all external agencies including local authorities, young people, parents, and the broader community.
  • Recognise and develop future business opportunities and make a positive contribution to their development
  • To be part of the OFSTED inspections, working group, contributing to the implementation of policies and procedures to meet outstanding outcomes
  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure that the centre's services are effectively promoted and delivered and case studies developed to support future work.
  • To ensure all local and national polices and followed for keeping young people safe
  •  To ensure staff are fully equipped and trained to meet the needs of the centre.
  • Effectively monitor the quality of teaching and learning with support from the quality manager. 

Personal Specification:

  • Management qualifications from Level 3 (Desirable)
  • Quality assurance qualification (Desirable) or willing to work towards
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths at grade C or above (Essential)
  • To have experience managing teams within an educational setting (Essential)
  • SEN qualifications and experience (Essential)
  • Experience and understanding of an EHCP (Desirable)
  • Background in further education either with a training provider or College
  • Experience of managing administrative responsibilities ensuring operational tasks are successful. (Essential)
