Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Building Surveyor to work with one of our Housing Association clients in Hertfordshire.

What the job will be doing

  • Administer major investment contracts including capital replacements, mechanical & electrical installations, and cyclical refurbishments and improvements out in compliance with statutory requirements, industry codes of practice and to the satisfaction of the residents/staff.
  • Undertake health and safety responsibilities including the role of Principal Designer in accordance with the CDM Regulations
  • Monitor, manage and report on the performance of contractors including the quality of works, cost control and general engagement and delivery.
  • Undertake technical inspections of investment project work and pre and post repairs.

What you will need

  • Experience (5 years) in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar.
  • Full contract administration responsibilities of a range of technical and complex major works projects; including preparing tender documentation, cost analysis and budgetary control, site management, supervising contractors, quality control and certification.
  • Robust understanding of current health and safety legislation, CDM (including Principal Designer experience) and comprehensive knowledge of other building related statutory obligations.
