Mechanical Estimator - Building Services - Watford - £60,000-£70,000 per annum

About the Company:

With a strong reputation for innovation, reliability, and excellence, we're continuing to grow - and we’re now on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical systems - including HVAC and plumbing.
  • Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and relevant documents to ensure precise costings
  • Preparing and submitting tenders in line with client requirements and deadlines
  • Sourcing and assessing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Working closely with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with technical requirements
  • Carrying out risk assessments and identifying value engineering options
  • Keeping up to date with current market rates, material costs, and labour trends
  • Maintaining clear and organised records of all estimating activities

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical estimating within the construction or building services industry
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office programmes
  • Clear and confident communicator - both written and verbal
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related subject is preferred, but not essential
