Credit Controller

£35k depending on experience

Watford - with onsite parking - fully office based

Our client is a well known sports brand. We are seeking a highly experienced Credit Controller to join them on a full time, permanent basis. This role involves comprehensive credit control duties, including liaising with customers, managing accounts, and ensuring efficient financial operations within the company. As Credit Controller at this company, you will be working for a well known sports brand.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Liaise with customers via phone, email, and letters for debt collection and provide customer support.
  • Record and allocate cash/payments collected against the correct invoices and credit notes.
  • Collaborate with agents, salesmen, and customers on debt-related matters.
  • Monitor Credit Insurance covers and update schedules accordingly.
  • Resolve customer queries in coordination with the warehouse team.
  • Conduct regular checks on customer portals, VAT numbers, and credit limits.
  • Manage invoices for international customers and chase approved invoices.
  • Handle Letters of Credit (LCs) and Bank Guarantees (BGs).
  • Provide key account management support for house accounts.
  • Maintain the ERP system (STYLEman software) and ensure data accuracy.
  • Update debtor lists and prepare monthly reports.
  • Review and report on the Sales Ledger to management.
  • Manage month-end procedures and assist with ad hoc reporting.
  • Support the Accounts Payable department as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller.
  • Strong understanding of credit control procedures and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in using ERP software, particularly STYLEman, and accounting systems like Open Accounts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
