We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant with experience in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our passionate team. Responsibilities:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant with SEMH experience, you will:

  • Provide Support: Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, focusing on those with SEMH challenges.
  • Develop Individualized Plans: Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student.
  • Behavior Management: Utilize effective behavior management strategies to create a positive and nurturing learning environment for students with SEMH needs.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' progress and adjust support strategies accordingly, ensuring that learning objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers to provide additional assistance in implementing differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay informed about the latest developments in special education and SEMH support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
