Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role within a new joint venture in the water industry? Our client, a collaboration between two leading contractors, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take the lead on key water infrastructure projects within the Thames Water region.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical engineering aspects of water infrastructure projects, from concept through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into larger project plans.
  • Develop, review, and approve mechanical designs, technical specifications, and drawings.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards and safety regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting to resolve mechanical challenges during all project phases.
  • Ensure projects meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare detailed reports, project documentation, and technical submissions.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and support staff within the team.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Mechanical Engineer, ideally within the water sector or similar infrastructure industries.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, and relevant industry standards.
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, enabling effective collaboration across different teams and client interaction.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering) and professional certifications.
  • Familiarity with the Thames Water Framework or similar utility frameworks is highly advantageous.
