Business Risk & Controls Manager

Salary: c£70,000

Location: Watford

We are supporting a client of ours in their search for a Business Risk & Controls Manager to join them on a 12 month contract.

This role is pivotal in assisting the Head of Controls in developing and implementing a company-wide Controls Framework. You will be responsible for identifying, documenting, and rolling out controls, as well as monitoring their ongoing effectiveness. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic organisation.

What you'll do:

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the implementation of the Controls Management System, ensuring clear documentation standards.
  • Lead the documentation of business wide material controls and key financial controls.
  • Monitor the remediation of control gaps, keeping the remediation tracker up-to-date.
  • Assist with the roll out of material controls and key financial controls.
  • Develop an assurance approach for each material control.
  • Perform initial design testing of material controls and oversee initial execution of assurance activity.
  • Administer and maintain the CMS to ensure risks and controls are updated.
  • Assist with the preparation of reporting to key stakeholders.

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in an Internal Audit / Internal Controls role.
  • Proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and follow through on projects.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good understanding of change management principles, techniques and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
  • Effective listening skills and good problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of Company strategy, Principal risks and operating model.
  • High level of personal integrity, ethics, regulatory compliance and customer service.
