Our client, a boutique firm, require an experienced client manager, with UK practice experience to join their team

you will have solid experience working in a UK firm firm of accountants, and be well versed in all areas of UK accounting in a practice environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare client accounts and tax returns based on information supplied by client, advise on tax payable and payment dates and to meet deadlines, finalise paperwork for dispatch to client and H M Revenue & Customs
  • Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information for their accounts, acting in a proactive way and ensuring attention to details and effective questioning of client
  • Seek to identify business and personal tax planning opportunities, drawing to attention of partners/ client as appropriate. Preparation of necessary reports/ computations etc, liaising with other professional advisers as required.
  • Monitor own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets, meeting these targets and exceeding where possible
  • Record own chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery
  • Support trainees by providing on the job coaching
  • Attend courses that are appropriate to job role
  • Use appropriate support networks to clarify knowledge on complex queries such as CCH
  • Prepare client tax returns based on information supplied by client, advise on tax payable and payment dates and to meet deadlines in line with the firms’ standards
  • Assist the Partner and manager in taking responsibility for the proactive promotion of the Firm in conjunction with the marketing department

Critical Skills Required:

  • Ability to complete accounts files accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to complete personal tax returns accurately and efficiently
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Strong active listening skills
  • Excellent problem resolutions skills and idea generation ability

Critical Knowledge Required:

  • In depth accounts prep Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Accounting systems including, CCH, Xero, Sage line 50,

Qualifications Required

Essential: ACA or ACCA qualified, will consider qualified by experience.

Desirable: Degree or equivalent experience

Experience Required

Essential: Minimum of three years proven accounts experience within a practice environment

Desirable: Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero.
