Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Desktop Surveyor in the Watford area. You will be reviewing reports, information, and photos of damage to properties (provided by field-based teams) and will be preparing scopes of work for the reinstatement repairs following an insurance claim.

Experience in using Xactimate is ideal but training can be given if you have used similar systems such as Symbility/CoreLogic, Synergy, Metrix, Blueprint etc.

Initially the role will be home based until May 2025, once the office is opened in May 2025 is will move to a hybrid role where you will need to work from the office based in Watford at least 3 days per week.

As a Desktop Surveyor you will be:

Reviewing surveys, reports, photos and videos to put together estimates/costs

Preparing a scope of works

Planning and overseeing projects to completion (up to £20k)

Updating the company system and client portals throughout

Dealing with variation orders and approving as necessary

Preparing relevant paperwork such as CPP/RAMs

Liasing with policyholder, loss adjuster, insurance company throughout

What is required for this Surveyor /Estimator role:

You will need to have surveying / scoping experience

Or experience as a claim handler or works scheduler within a contractor environment (insurance repairs) and have knowledge of building a Scope of Works

You will need to be a confident IT/PC user (ideally with experience using Blueprint, Xactimate, Symbility or other similar estimating software).

You will need to be happy to work from the office as part of a team

Details:

Permanent contract - 40 hours per week

£34-£36k salary depending on experience
