Fire Alarm & Extinguisher Engineer

Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 DOE, with potential earnings up to 50,000 + company van

Location: North London / Hertfordshire area

About the Role
Are you an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer looking for a new opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated professional to cover North London, including north of the M25 and Hertfordshire. The ideal candidate will have experience in servicing, maintaining, and fault-finding on fire alarms and extinguishers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and maintain conventional, addressable, and wireless fire alarm systems
  • Work with major brands of panels such as Gent or Vesda and other app-based systems
  • Handle fire extinguishers and emergency lighting
  • Perform Dual Com monitoring and other communication device tasks
  • Conduct servicing, fault-finding, and small works
  • Adhere to NSI codes of practice and current industry standards (EN50131 PD6662, DD243, BS4737, BS8243)


About You:

  • Proven experience in servicing, fault-finding, and small works on fire alarms and extinguishers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and good at time management
  • Strong work record
  • Full UK driving license

Working Hours:

  • Standard hours: 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday - Friday
  • On-call rotation: 1 in 6 weeks (additional paid overtime for on-call hours)
  • The role involves working with ladders at height and can be physically demanding
  • Flexibility to travel to various sites across the area
