Dunbar Education is proud to represent a leading secondary school in Watford seeking a dedicated and dynamic Careers Advisor to join their team. This is an exciting role where you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of students by providing comprehensive careers guidance and support.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Career Guidance: Provide one-on-one and group career counseling sessions to students, helping them understand their career options and make informed decisions.
  • Workshops & Events: Organize and deliver workshops, seminars, and career fairs to expose students to various career opportunities and higher education pathways.
  • Resource Development: Develop and maintain a library of career resources, including brochures, digital content, and informational guides.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external organizations to create a supportive network for students' career development.
  • Individualized Plans: Assist students in creating personalized career plans and setting achievable goals.
  • Monitoring Progress: Track and monitor students' progress and provide ongoing support and adjustments to their career plans as needed.


Requirements:

  • Qualification: A relevant qualification in career guidance or counseling (e.g., QCG, DipCG, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with current labor market trends and higher education opportunities.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • IT Proficiency: Competency in using digital tools and platforms to enhance the delivery of careers education.
