Prime Appointments are currently working with a global pharmaceutical company who are looking for an experienced Automation engineer to join their company based in Watford. You will play a key role in setting up and operating their fast-growing research facility.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor you will utilise your knowledge in Distributed Control Systems, SCADA, Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces.
As an Automation Engineer you will be required to:
- Oversee project life cycles and ensure compliance with industry standards for batch control systems, software development, and regulatory requirements (21 CFR Part 11, GAMP)
- Develop detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, SOPs, and operating standards
- Promote a safe working environment, adhering to all environmental health and safety regulations
- Administer and own process control automation in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
- Lead and support capital projects, applying advanced automation engineering principles for the design, construction, startup, and validation of process systems and equipment
Qualifications and Skilled Required
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Biotech Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of industry methodologies such as ASTM 2500, S88, and S95.
- Strong understanding of GMP procedures, validation practices, and change control system
- 2+ years' experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS systems (v11 or above) and Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk & ControlLogix PLC platforms
