My client is recruiting for a Service Engineer in the Water Sector
Field-based in the KT, SL, WD postcode areas
Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our leading, well respected water technologies company, where you will play a pivotal role in giving our clients the best in class quality service. You will provide on-site corrective/preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support. You will be expected to go on the 'On Call Rota' weekend/out of hours work once fully trained.
Some more brief responsibilities of a Service Engineer are:
- To observe, abide by and enforce the Company's and client's Health & Safety policies.
- To always present a professional image to customers whether by telephone, in writing or in person.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with customers ensuring you are always punctual, helpful and courteous.
- Flexible approach to customer's needs and working hours.
- Timely reporting to Service Manager on progress or delays.
- Timely completion and submission of risk assessments, work reports, activity reports and all other documentation.
- Timely completion of site tasks and activities as required.
- Look for recommendations and opportunities to improve the client's system, (reliability or productivity) and where appropriate provide quotations to the client for parts, consumables, plant upgrades and refurbishment work
- Liaise with the appropriate sales team on any potential leads.
- Offer feedback on future product development, features and functions
- Provide regular updates to your line manager on any issues that may result in financial, reputational or operational impact on the Company.
- To carry out commissioning work on standard equipment.
General requirements for the role:
- Ideal but not essential - NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or similar or even working towards.
- GCSE or equivalent - English and Maths.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience with the water industry would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Knowledge of the Healthcare and Scientific market is desirable.
- Experience of having worked as a Service Engineer or in a Technical Support role would be an advantage but not essential.
- Passionate about providing a first-class service to our customers.
- Able to handle challenging conversations with customers and find a resolution.
- Strong communication skills both verbally and written, with the versatility to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrable experience of having built strong working relationships both internally and externally.
- A professional approach to your work and communication with colleagues and customers.
- A good level of IT competency.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail.
- Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
