Merchandise Planner

Our client is a leading retailer with an extensive UK and International store portfolio, it is developing its offer across multiple categories. Including GM, FMCG and Apparel.

As part of its continued plans to strengthen its merchandise planning teams it is looking to appoint an experienced merchandise planner and would welcome candidates that have a track record in a fast-paced retail environment.

Reporting to the Merchandising Manager your remit will be:

Responsible for the sales volume forecast for a category

To own and manage intake plans for specific planning groups within each category in line with budget expectations

Influence sales and margin forecasts working closely with the buying team.

Manage OTB and optimise stock availability

Review Weekly stock sales and intake (WSSI) for own categories and explore additional promotions as necessary

  • Liaise with Suppliers from Far East and from UK

Influence commercial decisions made with Buying and Marketing team

To develop and manage Assistant Merchandisers and Merchandise Assistants

Skills required:

  • Strong commercial and numerate skills
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel and data handling skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiator
