We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the procurement process by assisting with various administrative tasks, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the supply chain. This position is ideal for individuals who possess strong organisational skills and have a keen interest in logistics and procurement systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain and update supplier databases, including contact information and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with various departments to forecast material needs and ensure timely procurement of goods.
  • Support negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock management to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Utilise procurement software systems such as SAP, AS400, Oracle EBS, or SAP ERP to track orders and manage data efficiently.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market trends for management review.
  • Assist in resolving any issues related to deliveries or product quality with suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a procurement or supply chain role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems such as SAP, AS400, Oracle EBS, or Edwards is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required; experience with data analysis is a plus.
  • A basic understanding of logistics principles and supply chain management will be beneficial.
