Location: Astral House, Watford (also flexible to Southwark or Bulls Lodge, Chelmsford) - Hybrid Working, 3 days in office 2 working from home

We are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor who is ready to advance their skills and take on more responsibility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow within the construction and civil engineering sector.

About the Role:
Based primarily at our Watford office, with flexibility to work from Southwark or Bulls Lodge (Chelmsford), you will be responsible for supporting our commercial and project management teams. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring they stay within budget.
  • Project Support: Providing accurate financial and commercial advice to the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Document Preparation: Preparing tender and contract documents, including detailed bills of quantities.
  • Cost Control: Monitoring and controlling project costs and managing budgets effectively.
  • Risk Management: Identifying, analyzing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
  • Subcontractor Management: Overseeing subcontractor procurement, handling payments, and finalizing accounts.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tender processes, and cost control mechanisms.
  • Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Membership with a professional body such as RICS is desirable but not essential.
