Overview
Due to continued expansion and the commitment to sustained and profitable growth, our client now wishes to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to be responsible for the generation of new business covering the UK, and the development of existing clients wherever possible. Acting as the face of the company, you will ensure sales plans are realised and measurable growth is achieved swiftly, through the application of effective techniques and strategies. Driving business in both the EV and renewables markets will be a main focus.
The Role
You will be identifying new clients and leads according to sales plans to maintain the companys forward order workload and pipeline.
You'll be updating and maintaining the companys CRM system.
You will research organisations and individuals to identify leads and potential new markets, offering the companys services and obtaining information to remain competitive.
You will attend seminars, conferences, meetings, and industry events promoting the brand and expanding the client network.
Contacting potential clients via email, phone or social media to establish rapport and set up meetings to develop new relationships.
Leading the negotiation process through to successful conclusion, including overseeing the handover process upon contract award
Drive sustainable financial growth through boosting contacts and forging strong relationships with clients.
Create and deliver presentations and sales displays internally and externally.
Support the identification of strategic targets and pursue them accordingly
Provide monthly sales reports
Maintaining client relationships, ensuring positive commercial outcomes for all parties
The Person
Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your communication styles.
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
Self-starter with the ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of the industry, its legislation, and also current events or trends
An understanding of the current and future EV market in the UK.
Ability to explain confidently and demonstrate best practices when dealing with O&M contracts
Excellent time management and organisation skills
Good commercial awareness including risk and opportunity
Good knowledge of the electrical industry, with specific awareness of the DNOs and IDNOs
Excellent understanding of all aspects within the distribution network, inclusive of LV / HV
The use of software such as Microsoft Office,Microsoft Teams and SharePoint etc
Full UK driving license (maximum of 3 points) and the willingness to travel as required
Experience in building and maintaining relationships within the sector
Hold a qualification in an electricalor construction discipline or have demonstrable work experience
