Secondary Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and learning difficulties? Do you have experience working in a UK secondary school, providing one-to-one and small group support to KS3 and KS4 students? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Academics!
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work on a full time, temporary basis, providing dedicated support to students with SEN in a secondary school in Watford. Your role will be essential in helping students reach their full potential by offering tailored assistance both one-to-one and in small group settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with students who have SEN, including learning difficulties, to support their academic and personal development.
- Provide focused 1:1 support, as well as small group interventions, across KS3 and KS4.
- Assist class teachers in delivering lessons and activities, ensuring students with additional needs are fully included and supported.
- Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of students, encouraging independence and confidence.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 months of experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a UK secondary school.
- Experience supporting students with SEN/learning difficulties.
- An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Confidence working across KS3 and KS4 in a classroom setting
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude
