Montrose Care Home, part of the B&M Care Group in Watford is looking for a Domestic Assistant/Laundry Assistant work as a Domestic Assistant to ensure the clean, hygienic maintenance of the home, and to keep a high standard of appearance to contribute to the quality of care and lifestyle. You will also be required to ensure that every resident enjoys clean and well maintained laundry that is presented to the required standard.
Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Domestic Assistant:
- To clean allocated rooms including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
- To uphold high standards of cleanliness, being mindful of the homes presentation.
- Where applicable to assist with bed making.
- To be aware of Health & Safety and COSHH policies and procedures.
- To clean sanitary and other equipment, in line with infection control policies.
Laundry Assistant:
- To efficiently manage the laundering of clothing and linen, thereby preventing un-necessary build-up.
- To ensure the laundry is identified for the correct loading of washer(s) and dryer(s).
- To have a knowledge of wash and drying programmed for differing fabrics and separate accordingly.
- To ensure there is a regular stock of detergent and fabric conditioner.
- To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the regular de-fluffing of the dryer(s), reporting any defects to the Manager or Housekeeper.
